Every guide separates tax credits, rebates, REC payments, export credits, and financing benefits.

An incentive is not a promise.

Program status, funding, utility territory, equipment, ownership, income eligibility, application steps, and installation timing all matter. Our guides show the source, administrator, status, and last-reviewed date so you can ask better questions.

Choose your state

Start with the program landscape

Statewide pages explain the major program categories. Local pages then add utility, ZIP coverage, city research, a conservative calculator, and official sources.

How to read the page

Keep each value in its lane

Tax credit

May affect tax liability and depends on tax rules.

Rebate

A program payment subject to eligibility and funding.

REC payment

A contract for renewable-energy credits with its own terms.

Export credit

Utility billing treatment, not a cash rebate.

Important 2026 federal update

The current IRS Residential Clean Energy Credit page says the 30% credit is unavailable for qualified property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Review the IRS source and your own tax circumstances before relying on any federal tax treatment.

Keep incentives separate from project price until the administrator, eligibility, and application path are confirmed.
