If you browse our directory, you'll notice something missing: we don't show star ratings. Here is why.
The solar industry suffers from a review manipulation problem. Many directories scrape ratings from multiple sources without confirming if the reviewer actually had a solar system installed by that company. This results in inflated scores that do not reflect reality and mislead homeowners.
We refuse to publish aggregated ratings until we have a defensible, transparent methodology to ensure every review comes from a real homeowner with an actual installation.
How to evaluate reviews yourself
- Look for specificsReal reviews often mention specific challenges (e.g., "they handled the tricky conduit run well") rather than generic praise ("great company!").
- Check the 3-star reviews1-star reviews are often emotional rants; 5-star reviews are sometimes solicited at the moment of sale. 3-star and 4-star reviews usually provide the most balanced view of an installer's operations.
- Post-installation supportPay close attention to reviews discussing what happened after the system was turned on. The true test of an installer is how they handle a failed microinverter six months later.

For now, we focus on providing hard facts: capabilities, service areas, years in business, and financing options. When we do introduce reviews, they will be confirmed and trustworthy.
