What is PG&E NEM 3.0?
NEM 3.0, or the Net Billing Tariff, replaced full retail net metering for new PG&E solar customers. Export credits are now based on avoided costs, typically 5-8 cents/kWh vs retail rates of 30+ cents. Battery storage is essential for ROI.
Can I keep my legacy NEM 2.0?
Existing NEM 2.0 customers are grandfathered for 20 years from interconnection. If you add battery storage or expand your system by more than 10%, you may lose legacy status. We advise on preserving grandfathered rates.
Does PG&E offer solar rebates?
PG&E participates in SGIP for battery storage rebates. Solar PV rebates are not currently offered, but the 30% federal tax credit and SGIP stack to reduce net costs significantly.
